Consultancy services which include, but are not limited to: Audits, Quality and Management advice for operators, and design and maintenance organisations required to comply with JAR & EASA, Technical advice, Expert Witness (reports and court appearance), Training of Regulatory Authority inspectors; drafting of State Regulation and staff technical procedures 

Specific Activities        

Investigation of aircraft operators’ maintenance and quality activities and the provision of management advice for improvement.

Quality audits of maintenance activities for operators or regulatory authorities in accordance with EASA Part M/JAR-Ops Subpart M, and JAR & EASA Parts 145 and 21, Sub-parts G & J.

Provision of aircraft human factors advice and training for operators and maintenance organisations

Design and presentation of training courses or modules covering any of the activities normally performed by an inspector for a government regulatory body under ICAO Annexes 6 & 8

Investigation of State regulation of aircraft design and maintenance activities and the provision of management advice and training for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

Background

Engineer apprenticeship in the aircraft manufacturing industry, followed by 11 years experience in design and development with major manufacturers, including 3 years at Boeing, Seattle and one year in aircraft equipment manufacture where a British patent was granted.  30 years experience in the UKCAA as an Airworthiness Surveyor in the UK and overseas - during the last 10 years being responsible for the UK maintenance regulation policy, and the writing of JAR 21 for design and manufacture; retired as Deputy Chief Surveyor.

Subsequent activity as an independent consultant in related fields for 15 different organisations including two years as consultant with the ICAO, Montreal, working on training course design for the International Safety Oversight Programme and drafting new guidance documents for maintenance engineer training, and maintenance human factors (Now published as ICAO Documents 7192D1 and 9824 respectively).
