Background

Independent consultancy practice was preceded by 45 years in the aviation operations and regulatory environments in a variety of roles; Flight Crew, Flight Operations, Air Traffic Control, Aerodrome Design and Operations, and Training. In-depth involvement over the last 20 years in the setting of Standards and Recommended Practices governing the safe operation of air transport. Served on the ICAO Pacific Region Operations and Airworthiness Working Group, the ICAO Visual Aids Panel, the ICAO Aerodrome Design Study Group, the ICAO Aerodrome Operations Planning Group and the Commonwealth Air Transport Council. Author of a number of definitive reports and papers on aerodrome design and operations, including the CAP 637 Visual Aids Handbook. Retired from the CAA as Head of Policy and Requirements  Aerodrome Standards.
