Background

Graduated in Chemical Engineering from Leeds University in 1973. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte) in 1976. Worked in the profession and industry in Spain and Portugal 1976 – 1979. Rejoined Touche Ross in London to specialise in Corporate Recovery and Insolvency 1979, becoming a partner in 1985. Founded Regenesis Partners, an operational turnaround consultancy, in 2001. Joined Begbies Traynor to set up their restructuring and turnaround practice in 2003.

UK aviation assignments include British Air Ferries (Administrator); British Island Airways Plc (Administrative Receiver); Danair Services (advisor to syndicate banks); Tradewinds Airways (Administrator); Regionair (Administrator); ARV Aviation (Administrator); Thurston Aviation (Administrative Receiver); Silverjet Plc (Administrator). 

International assignments include Adviser to European Commission DG VII Transport in respect of restructuring and recapitalisations of European flag carriers including Iberia, TAP Air Portugal and Olympic Airways; Alitalia (Restructuring and negotiation with European Commission); Air Burkina (privatisation advice); Cameroon Airlines (privatisation advice); Balkan Airlines (restructuring and pre-privatisation advice).
