QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

The following are some typical questions from prospective Members and our answers to these questions:

What activities are carried out to promote demand for the services of BAAC Members?

Our Register of Members and the BAAC Brochure are widely distributed throughout the industry in order to promote our services. Our Website at www.baac.org.uk provides in-depth view of the Association as well as providing a complete Register of Members with a detailed index and, where appropriate, links to Members e-mail addresses and Websites.

1998 and 2000 saw the BAAC represented on the FAC Stand at the Farnborough Air Show where potential customers and members were able to discuss their requirements with a Member of the Association. This was also an ideal venue for our Members to meet up to discuss the activities of the BAAC or other business. We hope to be able to repeat this some time in the future.

How many industry enquiries are handled by the BAAC and directed to Members?

We normally receive several enquiries per month. Wherever possible, the BAAC provides enquirers with the Register of Members or points them in the direction of the Website.

By what actions are the objectives of the Association carried out?

The business of the Association is managed by the Council and this includes membership requirements and subscription fees as may be appropriate from time to time.

The primary means of promotion is by the distribution of the BAAC Brochure and Register of Members as well as the provision of the BAAC Website and attendance at the Farnborough Air Show.

A number of functions are arranged during the year. In the past these have included the A.G.M. and Reception at the R.A.F. Club, Annual Dinner at the House of Lords and Luncheon at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

Who determines the Member's entry in the Register of Members and on the BAAC Website?

Each Member writes his own entry, in a format approved by the Membership Committee. Entries appear under three headings for which there is a maximum number of words:

Services Offered:- 50 words.
Specific Activities:- 150 words.
Background:- 75 words.

Each Member has his own page on the Website which contains the same details as in the printed Register. Links to each Member's e-mail address and Website is provided free of charge although enhancements such as additional text and pictures can be provided subject to an additional nominal charge.

Is the BAAC the appropriate body for me to join?

BAAC is the right body for Aviation Consultants to join. To the best of our knowledge no similar organisation exists in Europe.

How will I benefit by joining the BAAC?

Members enjoy the benefits derived from promoting the Objectives of the Association. As part of this promotion the distribution of the Register of Members and BAAC Brochure, the BAAC Website and listing of BAAC in various publications provides advertising on a scale which could not be contemplated on an individual basis for the very modest Membership fees which are levied.
