The Proposer and Seconder should be persons of good standing and high repute in the aerospace field. Both the Proposer and Seconder should normally be Members of the Association.
In cases where there may be difficulty in finding a proposer, the Council is prepared to accept that suitable introductions may be made to assist in the sponsoring of a candidate.
In such cases, and for applicants from overseas, applications without a proposer will be considered; however, in every case, an application without a Proposer must be supported by a minimum of two referees of standing acceptable to the Council to vouch for the validity of the applicant's statements in the application form.
The Application Form indicating present position and responsibilities should clearly indicate the areas of consultancy actually being undertaken and the date on which aviation consultancy commenced. This should be initialled by the Proposer or Referee who has knowledge of such activity.
The professional record must indicate the areas of work and responsibilities undertaken in addition to the appropriate job titles. In each case the Proposer or Referee(s) should initial their knowledge of, and agreement with, the applicant's statements at the end of each entry.
Strict adherence to the above will assist the Membership Committee to process the candidate's application.
The Membership Committee may wish to contact the Referees and, at the discretion of the Committee, may require further Referees.
The annual membership subscription is payable on application and payment of £120.00 should be sent with the Membership Application Form together with a non-refundable Joining Fee of £25.00. A refund of £60.00 will be made to candidates elected as Associate Members. In the event that the application is unsuccessful, the subscription payment will be refunded in full. Members admitted part way through the year may qualify for part of their membership fee to be deducted against the following year's subscription.
The completed Application Form together with the Membership Fee of £120.00 and non refundable Joining Fee of £25.00 should be sent to:
